Shyam Benegal, the veteran film director passed away recently. A recipient of several National Film Awards, Benegal was widely considered one of the greatest Indian filmmakers. For IRMAns, he will forever hold a special place in their hearts as the Director of Manthan (1976), which was based on the cooperative movement which laid the foundation for the White Revolution. "Mero Gaam Katha Paarey", the iconic song from the movie is played at the IRMA Convocation procession every year. Here's a tribute to Benegal from IRMA participants.
